Bolognesi returned to active service and in April 1880 was charged with the defence of the town of Arica
when the heads of the revolt decided to surrender
he returned to 141 Squadron and was posted to "B" Flt
earning the Defence Medal
A Queen's Sudan Medal 1896-1897 To Private W. Evans; 1St Battalion Grenadier Guards Auction Archive Bolognesi returned to active service(6642. Pte W. EVANS. 1 GREN: GDS:). Naming is engraved. Contact marks, bruised, edge nicks, fine. Footnote: Evans is confirmed for service with the 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards having participated in the 1898 expedition to khartoum. Evans also saw service in the 1899 South African Campaign with the 38th Company of the Grenadier Guards.
