The recipient of the Assault Badge is Lieutenant of the Reserve Joachim Berger on the Staff of Panzerjger (Tank Destroyer) Detachment 218. The document is dated to March 24, 1945 and signed in black ink by a Captain and Detachment Leader, his name could be Warsitz or similar. The unit was part of the 218th Infantry Division, fighting in the Courland
