Turkey, Ottoman Empire. An Ottoman War Medal, by B.B. & Co. Hold so called "salt & pepper"(Harp Madalyas). Constructed of silvered tombak with enamels, consisting of a five pointed star completing in ball finials, the obverse with red enameled arms demonstrating a classic strawberry seed style pattern, overlaid by a raised and silvered crescent, surrounding a silvered Tughra of Sultan Mehmed V above an Islamic calendar date of 1333 (AD 1915), the reverse affixed with a two piece suspension apparatus consisting of a rectangular base plate
