Instituted 12. 6. 1792 by King Friedrich Wilhelm II. (1861 1918 Issue). A Gold Maltese cross with white enamels, with a finely red enameled Gold eagle in each quadrant of the cross, the obverse of the cross with a Gold central medallion inscribed with the royal monogram of Friedrich Wilhelm Rex, surrounded by a broad ring of blue enamels, inscribed SINCERE ET CONSTANTER (Sincere and Consistent) in Gold
