Japan, Empire. A Sea Disaster Rescue Society Merit Medal, II Class visually-hidden measuring 240 mm (w) x(Kaij Saigai Kyjo Kykai Krsh). Instituted in late 1923. A circular silver medal, the obverse with a central depiction of two figures attempting to stay afloat on a sinking vessel, the reverse inscribed Sea Disaster Rescue Society Merit Medal in Japanese characters, on a single toe suspension bar for suspension from its period original ribbon, unmarked, measuring 31. 9 mm in diameter, in extremely fine condition.
