Legion of Honour, Knight (Lgion dhonneur, Chevalier), silver gilt and enamel, of five arm white enamelled star construction with ball tipped finials between the arms and green enamelled laurel and oak wreath between the star points, the obverse centre bearing a gilt medallion depicting the head of Marianne encircled by a blue enamel ring inscribed REPUBLIQUE FRANAISE 1870, the reverse centre with medallion bearing crossed tricolour flags surmounted
