An Emperor Leopold II Silver Military Merit Medal for the Netherlands, c.1790 Republic of flea marketsStruck in silver, riveted exterior, measuring 30 mm (w) x 30 mm (h), has not been punched for wear or suspension, slightly misshapen at 11 oclock, lovely patina, very fine condition. Footnote: Silver Medal issued to NCO's and enlisted men. Instituted by Leopold II of Belgium and awarded for the repression of the Brabant revolution and the restoration of Austrian Power in the Southern Netherlands. Also awarded on the occasion of the wars against the
