Germany, Third Reich. A Kriegsmarine High Seas Fleet Badge, Unmarked by Steinhauer & Lück, Variant I Newly Listed one depicting Meyering’s Knight’s Cross(Flottenkriegsabzeichen). Instituted in April 1941. Constructed of gilded and silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the base by a ribbon, topped by a Kriegsmarine eagle clutching a mobile swastika, surrounding a frontal depiction of a battleship cutting through waves, the reverse with a raised sheet metal hinge, with a slightly tapered vertical pinback, and a flat stamped catch, an unmarked example but
