he was a civilian worker for the Air Ministry between 1938 and 1945 and retired as Equipment Officer in Aeronautical Production
he was transferred to the Canadian Army Gymnastics Staff on July 1st
stating that he had five years previous military service with the Guernsey Militia

Blade in mint condition; grip without wood chipping, near mint, cross guard (marked "Wf") and fittings near mint, retaining nearly 100% of original finish. Scabbard without any dents, minor loss to paint (retains about 98% of original finish). Chain, in nickel plated steel, maker marked, near mint. Overall excellent example, matching, and in overall near mint
