Instituted 1 January 1830 by King Wilhelm I. (1856 1918 issue). Constructed of Gold with enamels, consisting of a Cross Patte with white enameled arms within a Gold frame, each quadrant joined together by radiant Gold sun rays, both the obverse and reverse bearing central white enameled discs overlaid by Gold monograms of King Friedrich I, unmarked, measuring 36. 08 mm (w) x 39. 82 mm (h), weighing 13.
