Constructed of silvered brass, the obverse consisting of an oval lauren and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom with a bow tie ribbon, topped by a German State Crown, around a central depiction of a monoplane flying over a rural landscape, the reverse with a raised barrel hinge, a vertical pinback, and a flat catch, an unmarked late war example, measuring 44. 8 mm (w) x 70. 0 mm (l), weighing 12. 88
