Constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Gothic Cross Patte, the obverse with a central inscription of FR PFLEGE SOLDATEN 1914 (FOR THE CARE OF SOLDIERS 1914), the reverse with a central monogram of Ludwig III, with an inscription of DEN 25TEN AUGUST 1870, measuring 43. 57 mm (w) x 48. 81 mm (h), weighing 14. 5 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in near extremely fine condition.
