A round silver medal; the obverse depicting the leftward facing bust of Kaiser Franz Joseph, circumscribed by his name and title; the reverse inscribed DER TAPFERKEIT (German To Bravery) within a laurel wreath; on a loop for suspension from a correct replacement ribbon; measuring 31. 11 mm in diameter; weighing 17. 5 grams; in overall better than very fine condition.
