A unique hand carved trench art plaque commemorating the German (Luftwaffe) occupation of Banak, Norway, constructed of partially stained wood, the obverse consisting of a stylized shield split into quadrants, with one each bearing a polar bear, an inscription of BANAK, a date of 1943, and a Nordic Cross style flag, topped by a German national eagle with featuring executed in exceptional detail, clutching a wreathed
