Vintage Butthole Surfers "The Ritz January 4, 1985" Scratch Acid Flyer Halloween 1985's Starting OverButthole Surfer started out as a small weirdo band from San Antonio, TX The band, which was formed by Gibby Haynes and Paul Leary in 1981, released their debut EP in 1983 on Alternative Tentacles, the label ran by Jello Biafra from Dead Kennedys. The record was seven songs and just shy of 20 minutes. That short amount of time would go on to kickstart their career, which continues to this day. They followed it up with their debut LP, Psychic Powerless
