In silver, obverse illustrating an upward pointing sword above a pair of wings with a wreath of oak leaves beneath, all of which is surrounded by ten stars, reverse marked with the Cairo assay mark, the national lotus flower symbol and date marked in Arabic, along with bearing the dates "1953 1372" (the dates of the establishment of the medal: A. H. and C. E.) in Arabic, measuring 37. 5 mm (w) x 54. 3
