with a vertical banjo style pinback with a barrel hinge and a flat wire catch
inscribed below in Persian "This medal has been presented in commemoration of the defeat of the French armies in the Kingdom of Egypt by the great bravery and ability of the victorious army in England"
United Kingdom. An India Medal 1895-1902, To Sepoy Thakur Singh, 36Th Sikhs United Republic of effective December 9Victoria, 1 Clasp PUNJAB FRONTIER 1897 98 (1799 SEPOY THAKUR SINGH 36 SIKHS). Naming is impressed, inverted, with the regimental number and last three letters of unit engraved. Pivot slightly loose, bruised, edge nicks, contact marks, replacement ribbon, very good. Footnote: The 36th Sikhs was an infantry regiment in the British Indian Army. They could trace their origins to 1887, when they were the 36th (Sikh) Bengal Infantry. Composed of Jat Sikhs,
