It is constructed of coarse olive-drab wool and features an up-turned collar that is decorated on either side with a single collar disk
as noted in his obituary that appeared in the Sherbrooke Gazette in February 1908

Constructed of silver, as well as green, white, and purple enamels with a dark red glass cabochon, suspended from its period original ribbon, measuring 46. 6 mm (w) x 48. 5 mm (l) not including its paulownia flower suspension, with light to moderate chipping in the enamels, in better than fine condition. 2.
